exam tip #1
Draw up a revision timetable and stick to it.
Spread your tasks out so that your revision is varied, mixing areas that you feel you’re good at, with those you find more difficult.
Then set yourself attainable goals
This is the best way to evaluate how much time you have before your exams and helps you realise how much time you really have, not how much you think you have.
exam tip #2
Divide your study into small portions – rather than look at it as one huge lump. Then you can handle it, one piece at a time.
This tip needs no explanation, dividing your study into portions is an easier way to tackle revision. For maths divide your exam revision into the topics of the unit.
exam tip #3
Stay cool under pressure by identifying a good study space.
Develop good study habits and set priorities.
Take regular breaks and eat & sleep well.
If there is a method for preparing for exams it is definatley getting lots of sleep. It is far easier to study when you are not tired and sleepy because your brain is focousing only on the task at hand.
I got theese tips from Fresh 92.7. Theese tips are reputable because the radio station is generally directed to older teenagers, therefore they want to get their ratings up so they use topics of interest. The topic of interest for this time of year is no doubt exams. What a better way to get ratings up and keep the audience happy.

This week I would like you to consider why boys generally find books in the fantasy and science fiction genres more appealling than other genres.Consider some reasons for this (at least 3).Consider whether this relates to you.Consider whether this relates to other male readers that you know (friends, family etc). What is your favourite genre and why?Don't forget to respond to someone's post from last week and upload yours if you forgot to over the weekend.
My three reasons are, boys like fantasy because anything can happen (it is always unpredictable), boys like the way they are usually outside the norm (not every day life stuff) and my last reason is that boys like it because they can sometimes relate to the characters.
I dont think this relates to me particulary, I prefer sports books, crime and autobiography books on sports people. Today I am reading "The Jigsaw Man" which is an autobiography on Kevin Sheedy.

This will be our final reflection on poetry. Please consider your response carefully.Poetry has been around for a long time and is still a very popular form of literature. Please consider the following points. You may respond to them as individual points or as a general response. Why do you think poetry has remained popular over centuries and many generations? What are the most popular forms of poetry in today's society? What role do you think poetry has to play in our lives? What is it about poetry that appeals to people? What sort of poetry do you enjoy most (either to read or to write)?Think of a poem that you know about. What is it called? Who wrote it? What type of poem is it? What is it about this poem that makes it relevant and memorable to you?
I think poetry has remained popular because it is the one form of literature you can express your self freely. That is very important in a society like today. Today there are many forms of entertainment that weren’t available long ago I find it quite interesting that the one form of entertainment they used centuries ago is still as popular today as it was then.
Today there are many new styles of poetry than there was when it was first introduced. Things like Haiku and acrostic poems have only been developed more recently. Today’s form of poetry is quite strict on things like how many syllables in a line, how many line and where to rhyme the words.
Poetry plays a small role in my life in particular, I only use it at school. At home I have no interest in poetry. I believe the younger generation today only witnesses poetry at school. There are so many more electronic things that we find interesting.
The thing about poetry that appeals to people is the way the author expresses their feelings. Every author has different feelings and different ways of describing them. This is where the many different forms of poetry come into play. Some forms suite some authors and others may suite other authors.
Poetry is probably my least favourite part of the literature we learn today at school. I find the poems that have certain rules are easier to write because they have guidelines. Things like the Japanese Haiku are easy because they have rules.
My favourite poem would definatley be the nursery rhyme "jack and Jill" it is always in my head because when i read child books when i was young it was one of my favourite poems of the book.
